Lanín Volcano Ascent
VOLCAN LANIN
Volcán Lanín raises 3776 m (12, 400ft) m.s.l. on the border of Argentina and Chile.
It is part of two national parks: Lanín in Argentina and Villarrica in Chile. On the Argentinean side Paimún and Huechulafquen lakes rest in the south of the volcano and Tromen Lake in the North. One of the two paths to the summit is in the north starting at the forest ranger post located at the base of the volcano. The ascent is regulated by the management of Argentine National Parks who recommend hiring authorized mountain guides in order to insure a safe ascent.
